Metro

Porto’s metro has six lines covering the city and suburbs, including a direct connection to the airport. It runs from early morning until around 1 am and is fast and affordable. Most students use the Andante card, which offers discounted fares and monthly student passes for unlimited travel.

Buses / Trams

The STCP bus network covers all districts, including areas not served by the metro. Historic trams mainly operate on central and tourist routes. Night buses run on key lines, and all services are covered by the Andante system.

Cycling / E-scooters

E-scooters and bike-sharing schemes are common in central areas and along the riverfront. Porto’s hills can make cycling challenging in some neighbourhoods, but these options are useful for short trips.
